Program Associate
Columbia Riverkeeper, is one of the Northwest’s leading river conservation groups working to protect clean water, salmon and fight global warming. We are looking for a ¾ time Program Associate in our Hood River, OR headquarters with possibility of expanding into a full-time position. This multi-faceted position will work closely with the Executive Director to assist in on-going habitat protection and pollution prevention projects and office management tasks. Applicant should have a real passion and experience with environmental protection, solid verbal and written communication skills, computer proficiency, and a proven record of working independently.
Duties include:
Communication with volunteers and the public; project research and writing; editing reports and grants; office administrative work.
Applicant should have:
Good communication skills – verbal and written
Experience making presentations
History of effectively working independently with quick turn-arounds and looming deadlines
Strong proof-reading skills
Good computer skills – Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe
Flexibility in hours and in tasks
Ability to work with limited supervision
Proven history of effective multi-tasking
Good social skills – a positive people person
Enjoy working with diverse groups of people
Pay: $15 an hour plus health care stipend. Applicant must live in the Columbia Gorge.
