Acasia Berry, Director of Finance & Operations
Acasia Berry (she/her) works to share her passion for clean water and the wildlife that depends on it in the Columbia River Watershed while generating support for our work. She brings over 25 years of experience working in conservation, community organizing and non-profit management and development. Acasia earned her BA in Anthropology from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill where she helped found the Student Environmental Action Coalition. While working with the Haw River Assembly in the southeastern United States, she led an environmental education program closely tied to the Hudson Clearwater. Prior to joining the Columbia Riverkeeper team Acasia was the Associate and Interim Director at the Sky Island Alliance in Tucson, AZ working to protect and restore the biodiversity of the southeastern AZ, southwestern NM and northern Sonora. She is very happy to be back to where the rivers have water and in her spare time you can find her exploring the tributaries of the Columbia.
Riverkeeper’s team includes scientists, environmental lawyers, and community organizers. We work to organize and empower local communities, enforce environmental laws, and build strategic coalitions. Our mission is to protect and restore the Columbia River and all life connected to it.
