Have you heard about the movement toward cleaner, healthier buildings? Heard the buzz about building electrification? Maybe you are wondering how you could offer feedback about your lived experience. Well, here is your chance! On February 3, Columbia Riverkeeper, Comunidades, Columbia Gorge Climate Action Network, and Verde are hosting an in-person, bilingual (Spanish and English) community listening session to learn more and offer feedback about what improvements you want to see—and you’re invited!

Food will be provided and participants will receive a gift card in appreciation of their time.

Our partners at Verde will share information about electrification, procedures, and policies. This listening session creates space for discussion about the intersection between racial, economic, and environmental justice and how it impacts the spaces we live and work.

Why now?

Advocates in Oregon have been attempting to establish a REACH Code to allow local jurisdictions to set standards that extend beyond the state-regulated building code. That work evolved in the 2022 legislative session into the Resilient and Efficient Buildings Task Force, which is currently exploring potential policies to reduce emissions and improve quality in both new and existing buildings.

¿Porqué ahora?

Los defensores en Oregón han estado intentando establecer un Código REACH para permitir que las jurisdicciones locales establezcan estándares que se extiendan más allá del código de construcción regulado por el estado. Ese trabajo evolucionó en la sesión legislativa de 2022 hacia un Grupo de Trabajo de Edificios Resilientes y Eficientes, que actualmente está explorando posibles políticas para reducir las emisiones y mejorar la calidad en edificios nuevos y ya existentes.

Para comprender mejor las necesidades, oportunidades y perspectivas diversas de la comunidad sobre los edificios y la energía, ¡necesitamos escucharlas de usted! El cupo es limitado y le sugerimos que reserve su espacio hoy.
