Karina Sahlin, Communications Coordinator
Karina Sahlin (she/they) serves as Communications Coordinator for Columbia Riverkeeper, where she works to build effective, exciting, and inclusive communications strategies to support all life within and surrounding the Columbia River.
Karina has extensive experience in political advocacy and electoral justice, helping to secure progressive victories in Minnesota and New York City. They have specialized in transportation policy, reproductive and disability justice, and the decriminalization of sex work.
Raised on the mighty Mississippi and Dnieper rivers, Karina feels most at home when on the water. In their spare time they play with their dog Rhubarb, and practice the banjo.
Riverkeeper’s team includes scientists, environmental lawyers, and community organizers. We work to organize and empower local communities, enforce environmental laws, and build strategic coalitions. Our mission is to protect and restore the Columbia River and all life connected to it.
