Lisa Muñoz, Comunidades Program Director
Lisa Muñoz is the Comunidades Program Director. She has worked with Comunidades since 2018 as a volunteer, helping amplify Latin voices in environmental and social justice issues. In 2020, Lisa joined Comunidades as Program Director, focusing on program structures and community outreach. Lisa is a member of the Latin community and grew up in the Columbia River Gorge. She spent most of her young life in orchards and outdoors with her parents, who immigrated from Mexico, and this cultivated her passion for environmental and social justice. Lisa has a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Lewis & Clark College. In her free time, Lisa enjoys hiking, crafting, and spending time with her dog, Dulce.
Riverkeeper’s team includes scientists, environmental lawyers, and community organizers. We work to organize and empower local communities, enforce environmental laws, and build strategic coalitions. Our mission is to protect and restore the Columbia River and all life connected to it.
