Happy Birthday / Happy Earth Day!

Columbia Riverkeeper Turns 20 on Earth Day!

Happy Birthday / Happy Earth Day!

Today is Earth Day, it also marks Columbia Riverkeeper’s 20th anniversary working to restore and protect the water quality of the Columbia River and all life connected to it, from the headwaters to the Pacific Ocean.

Though we don’t get to celebrate together in person today I am excited to share some of the stories from our 20 years fighting for clean water on Facebook live today at 1 p.m. PST.

Thanks to support from over 8,000 members, we’ve grown from a local Gorge group into a powerful organization whose victories for clean water and our climate have earned national attention. Our members helped create a thriving organization staunchly defending the great river of the West. Columbia Riverkeeper is more diverse, energized, and hopeful than ever. Will you help us raise $2,020 today for our anniversary and the river? We’ve got big plans for the next 20 years.

Three ways to get involved:
  1. Your membership keeps the Columbia River a place where people can swim and fish—now and another 20 years. Help us reach our anniversary goal of $2,020 today!
  2. Join our Legacy Circle by including a bequest for Columbia Riverkeeper in your will. Learn more
  3. Tune into Facebook live at 1 p.m. PST as I share stories about our 20 years fighting for clean water.

All along the Columbia, we work with people in dozens of communities—rural and urban—with the same goals: protecting the health of their families and the places they love. We enforce environmental laws to stop illegal pollution, protect salmon habitat, and challenge harmful fossil fuel terminals.

Our successful formula is combining strategic legal work with community organizing. We have an incredible team of environmental lawyers, community organizers, scientists, and more who work every day to protect the Columbia.

Columbia Riverkeeper has grown because the river needs protection. Our communities see a need and fund the fight for clean water. I encourage you to make a donation to Columbia Riverkeeper today and help us meet our anniversary goal of $2020.
