21st Birthday + Earth Day!

Many activities come to mind when planning to celebrate our birthday on Earth Day:

Paddling along your favorite spot in the Columbia, planting trees, and setting intentions on how to protect clean air and water heading into spring and summer.

This year we are partnering with Earth Day Oregon and our business partners toamplify collective efforts to make protecting natural resources about more than just one day. Earth Day, celebrated this year on April 22, is amplified with an entire month of activities.

Here are five ways you can help us raise the bar for climate:

1.) Show your support by buying one of our limited edition shirts. Only available until April 30, 2021!

Working Hands

2.) Celebrate our 21st birthday by grabbing a pint of Freshet Helles Lager from Working Hands Beer at the Slopeswell Taproom in Hood River. April - June they will donate a portion of Freshet sales to Columbia Riverkeeper! Take your beverages to-go or enjoy on their outdoor patio. Don’t forget to wear a mask. Location: 1021 12th St #102, Hood River, OR

Island Sailing

3.) Donate to Columbia Riverkeeper to protect clean water now and into the future!  Island Sailing contributed $500 to kick off our 21st birthday and Earth Day Oregon celebrations.

4. Raise a glass to clean water with a glass of Ferment Brewing beer on April 22nd. They are donating a portion of sales on earth day to fight for a clean Columbia!

5. Take action on our efforts to remove the Lower Snake River Dams, clean up Hanford, and stand in solidarity with Tribal nations to oppose the Goldendale Pumped Storage Project

In the words of Island Sailing’s Owner & Operator, Stephen Frankland:

“For over twenty years Columbia Riverkeeper has been a tireless environmental advocate for this wonderful river so many of us have the pleasure of exploring and enjoying under sail - and Island Sailing is so very happy to support their efforts."
