Swimmers Get Creative!

Cold Water Swimmers of the Columbia River Join Forces to Raise Money to Protect Clean Water

In for the River 2021

Can you imagine dipping your toes into the wintery water of the Columbia in March?! A group of committed local swimmers, organized by the Broughton Beach Ballenas, inspired us all with their March Swimathon, dedicating each stroke to Columbia Riverkeeper and the fight for clean water. They hit the chilly waters March 7-14, logged over 60 swims, and raised over $13,000 to support our work in just a week of effort!

Thanks so much for all who participated. We are very grateful and inspired by your cold water efforts!

Columbia Riverkeeper Executive Director, Brett VandenHeuvel, thanks the swimmers:
