Climate Action Teach-In on July 28

As part of the Alliance for Community Engagement in SW Washington, Columbia Riverkeeper is co-sponsoring a teach-in where you can learn more about Vancouver’s work on the large-scale fossil fuel facility ordinance and Climate Action Plan.

Join Us For a Vancouver Climate Action Teach-In on July 28 at 5:30pm!

In coming months, the Vancouver City Council will vote on a permanent ordinance prohibiting new or expanded large-scale fossil fuel infrastructure. At the same time, Vancouver is developing an ambitious Climate Action Plan, one of the most aggressive in the U.S. when it comes to curbing climate-changing pollution. Together, these policies could protect our health and prevent further harm from fossil fuel pollution, especially important in neighborhoods already disproportionately impacted by pollution.

Join us for a zoom teach-in about Vancouver climate action on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. Register for the teach-in here.

As part of the Alliance for Community Engagement in SW Washington, Columbia Riverkeeper is co-sponsoring a teach-in where you can learn more about Vancouver’s work on the large-scale fossil fuel facility ordinance and Climate Action Plan. Join us to hear from Vancouver City Councilmembers Diana Perez and Kim Harless to learn more about these important policies and how to take action to ensure Vancouver takes the bold steps needed to further environmental justice and protect our health, safety, and climate!

We will provide more information in coming weeks as the City Council plans to vote on its Climate Action Plan on September 12, and the Planning Commission will hold a hearing and make a recommendation about Vancouver’s proposed large-scale fossil fuel facility ordinance on September 13. The teach-in will provide more details!
