Remove Snake River Dams

Columbia Riverkeeper delivers petitions seeking a path to un-damming the Snake River.

Building Momentum for Snake River Dam Removal

Today, Columbia Riverkeeper delivered another 571 petitions signatures calling for Snake River Dam removal. We can (and should) replace the services these dams provide; but we can't replace a river.

It's time for elected leaders like Senator Cantwell to publicly endorse Lower Snake River dam removal as the best option to restore salmon, protect Southern Resident Orcas, and honor tribal rights.

We have limited time and need to make sure that our elected officials understand the urgency and importance of this issue.

What can you do to help?
  1. Learn more, read the letter.
  2. Sign the petition: We need as many signatures as possible to demand action from our elected representatives. Sign today and share with your friends!
  3. Donate to support our work.

In the coming weeks, we expect Senator Murray and Governor Inslee to release a final report and recommendations on Lower Snake River dam removal. Your voice supports leaders like them who understand that replacing these four dams is our future—and provides much-needed pressure on elected officials like Senator Cantwell and Representative DeFazio who may oppose dam removal, tribal rights, and salmon and orca recovery.

If you want to do even more to make the Snake River dams history (like standing in solidarity with Native Youth or Northwest Tribes), please visit the Lower Snake River Dam Removal page on Columbia Riverkeeper’s website.

Take Action

Un-dam the Snake River. Save the salmon, stop the extinction.
