On June 20, Hanford workers discovered radioactive material outside double-shelled tank AY-102. Last fall a leak in this tank was found, but it was preciously thought that the radioactive waste was only leaking into the space between the tank's two walls.
This utterly disturbing news is just another reason we must demand that the Department of Energy get serious about cleanup at Hanford now, the safety of our communities and river are at stake.
