Your support in 2015 powered these accomplishments on the fossil fuel front:
- Portland passed a landmark Fossil Fuel Resolution: The policy opposes the expansion new fossil fuel projects like coal, oil, and propane terminals, and toward a clean energy future.
- Oil refinery plans exposed: Our crack legal team exposed plans to build the first new West Coast oil refinery in 25 years, and we are mobilizing to stop it.
- Oregon shut the door on coal export: In the beginning, there were six coal export terminals. After a big victory in Oregon, two remain. We are focusing on the Millennium coal proposal in Longview, WA, and helping Lummi Nation allies fight coal in Cherry Point, WA.
- The Estuary is LNG-free for 10 years: In May, over 600 Oregonians on the steps of Oregon’s Capitol cheered a fiery speech by Waterkeeper Alliance President Robert F. Kennedy Jr. LNG export calling on Oregon Governor Brown to “Say No to LNG in Oregon!”
