Capt. Peter Wilcox and Bridget Bayer

Capt. Peter Wilcox and Bridget Bayer have dedicated countless hours to clean water and Columbia Riverkeeper over the last decade. Peter is an energy efficiency expert and boatbuilder. He is also the President of our Board of Directors, which requires smart attention to finance, programs, and vision. Even beyond that serious time commitment, Peter is a super volunteer across our program areas. Peter has: volunteered to collect water quality samples, fought the Pembina propane terminal; attended dozens of rallies and public hearings; captained our patrol boat; and shared his love of the Columbia with thousands.

Bridget spearheaded Riverkeeper’s 15th Anniversary party in Portland, and helped make the event a huge success. It helps that Bridget literally wrote the guidebook on planning successful events for community groups. Check out "Street Fairs for Community and Profit: How To Plan, Organize and Stage a Sensational Street Fair While Building Community." Peter and Bridget live in a floating solar home on the Columbia River, and ply its waters in a hand-made wooden boat. Thank you Peter and Bridget for all that you do.
