What inspires you to do this work?
Place, people, and positivity. The Columbia River is of course a source of stunning beauty and bounty that people rely on. I admire Columbia Riverkeeper’s focus on building relationships, really listening, and working together to drive action toward shared goals. It’s a pretty unique blend of bulldog tenacity coupled with an optimism that a better future is possible. On a more personal level, I’ve always been inexplicably drawn to water; as such, the Columbia River has served as the setting for some deeply meaningful moments in my life. It’s a privilege and an inspiration to have the opportunity to do work that’s improving the environment and strengthening communities in the place I call home.

Meet the Team
Riverkeeper’s team includes scientists, environmental lawyers, and community organizers. We work to organize and empower local communities, enforce environmental laws, and build strategic coalitions. Our mission is to protect and restore the Columbia River and all life connected to it.
