Background
Developers want to bury an almost 100-mile, 400-kilovolt electrical transmission cable (think: a massive, high-voltage power line) under the Columbia River from The Dalles to Portland. If approved, this would be the first in-river electrical transmission cable in the region. This is a precedent-setting project that has serious and concerning implications for the Columbia River, the lifeblood of the Pacific Northwest.
Please join Columbia Riverkeeper, Friends of the Columbia Gorge, and the Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission (CRITFC) to learn more about this project, hear our concerns, and learn what you can do.
