Take Action: Oregon Data Center Moratorium

Join the call for a Moratorium on Data Centers in Oregon!

Big Tech’s AI data centers are sucking up Oregon’s water, jeopardizing our clean energy goals, and harming communities. Oregon’s legislature can put the brakes on the rampant building of new data centers by passing a three-year moratorium. Tell your legislator: Big Tech doesn’t call the shots here. Oregonians demand a three-year moratorium so that we can examine the impacts of data centers before siting more in our state.

Join the call for a Moratorium on Data Centers in Oregon!

Dear (your Oregon State Senator and Representative):

I urge you to support a three-year moratorium on data center development in Oregon. We must have time to responsibly assess the burden that Big Tech’s additional data centers will create before allowing more of them to be built in our state.

The proliferation of data center proposals and construction in Oregon is taking a massive toll on our natural resources, our municipal systems, and our communities. Data center development has gone largely unchecked. The result: Oregon is the second largest data center market in the US, behind only Virginia. Yet the full economic and environmental impact of data centers remains unknown.

Our water, communities, and climate should come first. We are counting on you to stand up to big tech’s data center explosion and say yes to a three-year data center moratorium in Oregon. It is critical that we take the time to fully understand the impacts of data centers before allowing more to be built. Our future depends on it.

Please protect Oregonians and the precious resources we depend on.
