Yakama Nation’s ERWM Program & Columbia Riverkeeper present the Hanford Journey.

Join us along the Hanford Reach to learn more about Hanford Nuclear Site Cleanup.

Who: Hosted by Yakama Nation’s Environmental Restoration Waste Management Program and Columbia Riverkeeper. 

What: Join us for a day of experiential learning and knowledge sharing. Boat tours will look for salmon spawning activities and glide past reactors, while guides discuss cleanup updates; after a catered lunch, speakers will discuss salmon, cleanup, and the future of the site; and a hike at White Bluffs will remind participants that Hanford has a future worth fighting for. 

When: Friday, October 23, 2026 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Where: Vernita Safety Rest Area, 48 SR-24, Sunnyside, WA 98944

How: Fill out the required RSVP form below. Sign ups for boat tours will happen onsite and be first come first serve, with spots reserved for Elders.

Remember, this is an outdoor event subject to weather fluctuations. Make sure to bring a water bottle (there will be fill up stations), sunscreen, hat, jacket, and anything else you may need to enjoy a warm and windy day of boating and hiking.
