Hanford Journey Field Trip
May 28 @ 7:30 am - 3:00 pm PDT
Yakama Nation Environmental Restoration Waste Management (YN ERWM) and Columbia Riverkeeper present the Hanford Journey Field Trip, an educational student experience on the Hanford Reach!
The Hanford Journey Field Trip will gather students to inspire the next generation to protect the Columbia River from the Hanford Nuclear Site’s nuclear legacy. This educational STEM event engages students about potential hazards from Hanford and what they can do to help protect their communities and the environment.
Wednesday May 28, 2025 from 7:30 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.
Come explore Hanford from its cultural and religious significance to the Yakama Nation, to its ecological importance to the region, and the role that young people will play in its future. YN ERWM’s technical staff ranges from archaeologists to cultural resource experts to hydrogeologists and more, along with Columbia Riverkeepers lawyers and environmental experts, we will provide students with a rare backstage pass to Hanford. Students will leave the day with an understanding that this fight will outlive us but can’t be won without us.
We will provide transportation to and from the event and lunch. This event is free. RSVP below.
