Lauren Goldberg (she/her) focuses on Columbia Riverkeeper’s energy and toxic-free waters campaigns. Lauren’s practice areas focus on protecting salmon habitat and river communities from energy projects, including oil-by-rail, natural gas, and coal export projects. Lauren also works with Riverkeeper members to enforce the Clean Water Act and hold polluters accountable for violating the law. This includes two high-profile cases against the federal government to curb oil pollution from nine of the nation’s largest hydroelectric dams. Lauren also works with diverse coalitions to fight for laws that protect people from toxic pollution. Lauren graduated with honors from Lewis and Clark Law School with a certificate in Environmental Law and holds a B.A. in Conservation Biology and Legal Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys playing with her young daughters at Columbia River beaches.
Riverkeeper’s team includes scientists, environmental lawyers, and community organizers. We work to organize and empower local communities, enforce environmental laws, and build strategic coalitions. Our mission is to protect and restore the Columbia River and all life connected to it.
