Liz Terhaar (she/her) leads Columbia Riverkeeper's communications and media outreach efforts. She brings over a decade of experience to the table, previously working in various journalism, marketing, and public relations roles.
What inspires you to do this work?
The people and communities along the Columbia River inspire me to do this work. Being a part of a movement to create a better future excites me every day. When I walk along the Columbia River or paddle in its tributaries, I see the beauty and wonder in this water and know it is worth protecting the pulse of our communities.
Riverkeeper’s team includes scientists, environmental lawyers, and community organizers. We work to organize and empower local communities, enforce environmental laws, and build strategic coalitions. Our mission is to protect and restore the Columbia River and all life connected to it.
